8″ X 12″ END OF THE LINE acrylic on canvas board original painting wall art. Original Southwest Art painting of a Santa Fe Railroad caboose from during the Santa Fe’s heyday. The legendary Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad used fleets of caboose cars during their time as America’s premier, great railroad. It wasn’t just a sleeper car for tired engineers conductors and brakemen. From the caboose the train’s crew could keep an eye out for shifting loads, uncoupled hoses and other safety issues. Each caboose also came with a wood-burning stove, long benches that converted into bunks and even a working toilet. This caboose, #110, can be seen at the Fullerton Railroad Museum at the Amtrak Train Station in downtown Fullerton, California. It’s a piece of history on wheels.
