The Miramar has been a San Clemente landmark and cultural symbol since it opened in 1938.Opened in 1938, the theater was originally named the El Hildalgo, then the San Clemente theater, and finally the Mira Mar Theater. You could see Gone With The Wind there for 25 cents. After attendance fell in the early 1960s, the theater showed surf movies before closing her doors in the mid 1980′. Several groups are currently trying to refurbish this grand old theater. Stay tuned.
