Monolithic buttes and red rock formations framed against a cobalt blue sky, with clouds who appear to be competing for the viewer’s attention, with their dramatic contours and billowing expanses. Sometimes these cloud formations throw shadows on vertical walls and flat mesas, creating new compositions and colors. Rock formations carved by the wind and the rain and clouds formed by sudden updrafts. these red cliffs give the appearance of climbing up into the clouds that form canyons of clouds in the sky. Located in the Four Corners section of the American Southwest, where the states of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico meet. All at the same place. 36.99898 degrees North, 109.04517 degrees West, to be exact. Sentinel Mesa is a 1,966 foot high summit in San Juan County, Utah.
