The back end of the San Francisco de Aisis Mission Church at the Rancho de la Taos might even be painted more than the front of the church. It’s almost got that ‘Left Twix’ ‘Right Twix’ thing going on. The church was built in 1720 by the Franciscan Fathers, with a little help from the Spanish Colonial government and a lot of Native American labor. As a National Historic Landmark, the San Francisco Di Asis is still an active parish and part of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.
