ST. FRANCIS DI ASIS FACADE

12″ X 16″ SAN FRANCISCO DI ASIS FACADE is a fine art giclee print reproduction of the original oil on masonite board painting. The Land of Enchantment, New Mexico is also the Land of famous and iconic Mission chapels. The San Francisco Di Asis is one of the most recognizable Spanish mission churches in the American Southwest. The church was built in the center of a fortified plaza that defended against Commanche attacks. In 1967 the Archdiocese of Santa Fe replaced the roof and the ceiling beams. The church doors were replaced with replicas and the original sanctuary woodwork was left intact.

Some of the longest consistantly occupied cities in North America can be found in New Mexico, the “Land of Enchantment.” One of those cities is Santa Fe, Spanish for “Holy faith”, which is located in Santa Fe County, at the foot of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Founded in 1610 as the capital of Nuevo Mexico. Santa Fe in considered by many to be the cultural capital of the American Southwestern United States. Santa Fe has more cultural attractions than you shake a paintbrush at. There’s the Georgia O’Keefe Gallery at one end of the cultural spectrum with the Meow Wolf Museum at the other end, with museums, studios and galleries galore in between.
